Sims cant put dirty dishes away in restaurant since "Get Famous"

I am having this exact issue. My sims own a restaurant and there are dirty dishes everywhere. The wait staff will pick them up, but then it's as if I have no sinks or dishwashers or wait stations, they just walk a few steps and put them back on a different table. When I try to have my sim clean up, they'll go around collecting all the dishes (so at least they're in one pile) and then will set them down on a random table. Any ideas? 

I have no mods installed.

@SelfishOtter Could you check if you have any shelves in your restaurant where one of the Sim might have but some dirty dishes ? They like to put them there but then they can't get to them, causing what you're describing.

If you find any, manually remove them and it should start working again.
