Sims keep deleting from family/household

I have a family that I have been playing with for 2 years maybe. I moved them to a fresh save and the mom is apart of the family that I've had for so long. Whenever I place them into the lot, The mom will just completely disappear from the household. I can see her on the family tree and add her back to the household but it only lasts for a bit, then she will be removed again, and eventually she will just completely delete and I can't find her again anywhere. It's so frustrating I have tried everything I can and repaired the game a bunch of times and removed mods and stuff but nothing is changing at all, it's only the sims that have been in my 2 year long household that get constantly deleted. The newer sims don't get deleted.

  • Hi @TrisCasa A 'quick fix' that may help.. I had a friend with a similar issue (it was also a very 'old' save/household) I got her to 'share to the gallery', I then saved the household, and shared it back to her (it would 'auto strip' all the mods/cc) a 'blank save' with no mods or cc is also best to use on 'both ends' of this process. 👍

The thing with some older saved games & households, is that the mod or cc used at the time, may break it and it then becomes almost unsalvagable, even though you may have since deleted the problematic mod or cc.

Needless to say, always try the 50/50 or culling method, more tips below..

    Spoiler

Sadly, there is no shortcut to finding broken cc & mods I'm afraid, it's up to the artist of particular cc & mods to keep them compatible with the game, so you need to find the culprit your game. To do that,  remove and cull them 50/50 to find it, there may be an updated version or reported as broken. Mods like More Columns for cas,  MCCC to name a few, have new updates and you'll find the correct  links there too.

The culprit will likely be found via the culling method, using a 'fixing type of new' game will help that a lot, by not 'stripping the cc off your sims'.. More tips at my post here on maintaining your game with cc and Sims 4 Update Patches including instructions on the 50/50 method

    • Apart from culling your folders one by one, or the  50/50 method, to narrow down the broken cc or mod, that is all you can do, (restarting and checking your game each time) you'll simply need to find the broken mod/cc it and remove it

    • Mods & cc are well known to cause various in-game issues please check for updates to them / where you found them; do this also > after any sims update or adding a game pack,

    • I also use Sims 4 Studio for batch fixes, as it solves a lot of problems in bulk (but not all.) It's also available for Mac. And is updated frequently, with pack relevant bug fixes.

     Hope this helps,

    Sasha
