Sims Stuck in Time

Hello and thanks in advance for reading my post.

I was playing today and suddenly with no warning my sims just stopped responding to anything. I can’t switch to a different sim and the clock is frozen at one time. The game isn’t completely frozen, I can still move the camera around, click on commands and little z’s continue to rise from my sleeping sim, but no one will move past this frame in time. I do not have any mods installed on my game. Sometimes the game Quits to the menu without a problem but other times it stalls out at the loading screen and needs to be stopped by the task manager. 

Anything you can offer to save my game file would be super helpful.
