Sims Stuck on loading screen when in windowed mode.

I put my last game of sims in windowed mode to multitask while playing, and didn't change the settings before turning off the game. Now, the game gets stuck on the start up loading screen, and sometimes crashes before loading the game. This only happens when in windowed mode, and I'm wondering if there a a way a to fix it without unintstalling the games itself(which has worked in the past, but I don't want to do that und los lose current progress with my family).
I've had the game since it's realease, and it's worked fine on my laptop. This seems to be the only problems I've experienced.
  • Hi @WickedDork

you can change this in your options.ini file.

The file can be found here: documents\electronicarts\thesims\ and is called options or options.ini. Open the file in a text editor and search for fullscreen

Change the value to 1. Then restart the game. That should start the game in fullscreen.

You could also just delete the file but that resets all the settings and you will need to redo them.

  • I went ahead and tested this and it does work, but I also got it to work myself a few times by maximizing the window by right clicking the top bar of it. Loaded up just fine then as well.

    Thank you @crinrict!!
