Sims4- Can't choose traits,change clothes or exit and save

For some reason sims 4 isn't letting me play with mods, If i add the mods the game will act weird, when i go to change my sims clothes there literally won't be anything on the screen i can't exit back out of it or click on anything, the only thing on the create a sim screen will be the sim, the rotate arrows and the trait boxes but when i click on them the traits don't come up. I can't save the game, or exit out of it I have to force close it. I tried removing the recent mods from before the game started acting up, it didn't work i removed the mods  completely and the game worked. The mods have not ever been a problem I do not want to play my sims if i can't have my mods, any suggestions on how to fix this?
