Sims4 All screen controls gone

So after a few days of not playing the Sims 4 I ran into a problem today. All of the screen controls are gone but the keyboard controls are working fine. I also can't access the options menu. When I click on objects in the game nothing happens. I can't get out of the game without ctrl-alt-del and ending through the task manager.
