Simulation Lag
I've read other solutions, but they didn't help me. So, the problem is: characters are thinking for a very long time, and if I am trying to stop action, it is not terminating instantly. And the computer menu doesn't open instantly (~3 sec).
My configuration is:
1. DLC - all possible DLCs
2. GPU - RTX 3060
3. CPU - i5-4690
4. RAM - 8 GB
I've tried "simulation lag fix" mod, but that didn't work. How can I deal with this naughty problem? Thanks.
@medvezhestvo The graphics chip integrated into your processor is enabled but doesn't have a proper driver. I don't know whether this is affecting Sims 4, but it could. One option to address this is to install the correct driver. I can't find a driver on the Intel site, and it's best not to download one from a third-party site, so let Windows look for one. Hit Windows key-X, choose the Device Manager, open the Display adapters section, click the Intel Graphics 4600 entry, and click the black and green Update menu button. Then restart your computer.
If that doesn't help, disable the iGPU in your computer's BIOS. I don't know exactly what motherboard you have, but Asus has good documentation for all of its products, so check the support page for your specific board.
If that doesn't help either, please try playing in a clean boot:
The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run. Disable the rest as described.
When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled. If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.
Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.
