Sound isn't working in Sims 4

I know there are other posts about this and I have read them but they haven't solved my problem. Sound drivers do not need to be updated, I have no mods in my game, oddly when opening the volume mixer the sims 4 isn't listed but when I open other games they are in the volume mixer and all other games sound works perfectly fine. I did not have this problem on my laptop with the game but when I installed the Sims 4 onto my brand new PC it had no sound. I have also checked the advanced launch options in game properties for the Sims 4 on origin and the was no "-nosound" written in there. I have also deleted the options.ini file in the Electronic Arts folder in my documents. I am going to uninstall and reinstall the game as that is all I can think of that I haven't tried. I am thinking it may have something to do with the most recent update. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I can handle the game without sound, it isn't the end of the world but it is very annoying 🙂

Hi, I just have some basic computer speakers plugged in to my monitor, with the other wire from them (USB) going into the PC under my desk. They work for every other sound, games, videos etc.

@Alicerose001  That's fine, but I need to know if a different device works with Sims 4.  If you have headphones or earbuds, even if the quality isn't good, please unplug the speakers, restart your computer, plug the headphones into the computer (or let them pair if they're Bluetooth, and try to play.

And if you still get no sound, I really do need to see a dxdiag.

Thanks for your help. I wasn’t able to get another thing to plug in or use for sound like headphones etc but I just started the game and the sound was working, not sure why or how that happened since I hadn’t done anything more but hopefully it stays working 🙂
