Not sure I can help you further with that.
Have you contacted EA Support yet ?
yes i have and EA is blaming Steam and Steam is blaming EA..........
Could it be something with a download issue? how Origin and or the game are not downloading into the right place and origin looking for a file that it can't find cause of it downloading wrong.
- crinrict5 years agoHero+@DDRacing29 Ah, the blame game, always fun.
I've only tried with the Origin version installed but when I installed the Steam version, Origin wasn't running and it had no troubles finding it on my Account.
I also think there would be more reports if it was a general issue. Something is preventing your accounts from connecting properly
To narrow down the issue: Are you using same email address for both Steam and Origin ? - 5 years ago
yes its the same email and it's download to the same hard drive (Which is my gaming hard drive) (game and origin and steam)

this is the debug text that i keep getting in the Origin file
[0702/100923:WARNING:resource_bundle_qt.cpp(114)] locale_file_path.empty() for locale

Could you try starting both Origin and Steam as admin before the starting/installing the game ?
Also try opening the the ports: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/opening-tcp-or-udp-ports-for-connection-issues/ - 5 years ago@DDRacing29 In your Steam Library, click on the game in the list of games, then, click on the cogwheel icon on the right, followed by Manage and then on CD Keys. Do you see the game code? If yes, than you can redeem that on Origin.
yes i have tried that already @crinrict. I tried signing out, closing everything on steam and origin, ending the task in task manager, launch steam in admin mode and it still didnt matter. i kept getting the same issues i was having when origin asking for a code. Did nothing different.

there no CD Key. I wish it was just easy.

i just sent Steam a refund request. I can't get this to work and this shouldn't be all this hard for the game to work and I'm tried of Origin vs. Steam fight and ill just get a refund and when Sims gets released on sale on Humble Bundle or Origin ill rebuy it and just deal with it then. I'm not spending $40 on it on origin when steam as it for $20 but sadly for whatever reason mine not working when using steam and Steam just can't give me a code and be done with it.
Thank you to all for the help and sadly this issue isn't and I don't think it will ever be. But thank you to the ones that help and tried. I deeply appreciate it. - crinrict5 years agoHero+@DDRacing29 Hope there will be a sale for you soon.

I pretty much had the same problem with you. I buy The Sims 4 on Steam, when I try to run it, it requires Origin to be installed and it prompted/asked my The Sims 4 Product Key (which I do not have from Steam). Think starting a game you properly buy shouldn't be this hard ☹️

Yes. I just bought the base game from Steam. However, I need to update this. Just before, I managed to play the game, like 1 hour ago.
Here is what happen:
I try to restart my computer, then click play from Steam.
Origin prompted, give me error message "Origin encountered an issue loding this page. Pls try reloading it - id that doesn't work, restart the client or try again later."
I ignore it, proceed to close Origin and click Play The Sims 4 again on Steam. This time, the game started.
I do not know exactly what's happened, but I think there's stability issue from Origin ☹️

@derMemory make sure that you have a stable network connection while starting the game for the first time.
Do you have any anti virus or firewall blocking Steam or Origin?

Can confirm that worked for me. I was having the same issue. It seems like both steam and origin accounts must be using the same email.

Hi! I have a fix that may work for you (it worked for me). Go into Origin -> Library->Find your game->Right click->Game Properties->uncheck the option "Enable Origin In Game for *your game* ->save. You will have to download the game again to a different folder. I haven't checked if it works if I delete the game from my steam library. Good Luck!

This was the fix for me. Many thanks.

What has worked for me was verifying files of Titanfall 2 on Steam, it will say all files are there. BUT when you launch titanfall 2 after this it will start reinstalling with Origin connectivity in the files fixing it. That is what worked for me and what I saw occur. Hope this helps others where these fixes didn't.

Im having the exact same problem and im using the same email on both steam and origin
- 5 years ago@KiralyDinnye Thanks so much! This was the only thing that worked for me!
- 5 years ago@YinzerGal431 You’re welcome! Good luck and have fun! Thanks for letting me know it worked for someone else as well. Oh and by the way: try avoiding the “checkup” Origin likes to do every time there’s an update (just don’t allow it to run that exe.)

Hello!
I have the same problem. Download Sims 4 on steam, download origin, identify myself by creating a new account with the same e-mail than steam and... Origin ask me for a code... I try the miracle solution ( librairy... enable origin..) But, I can't find the game in the librairy. When I follow this link:
https://myaccount.ea.com/cp-ui/connectaccounts/index ,
I notice that there is no connected count to my EA count...
Please, what can I do?

So I was also experiencing this issue. Here's what fixed it for me.
Game: Crysis 3
Close Origin.
Quit Origin.
Do not have Origin open at all.
Run game from Steam.
Loads up fine.
I can't say this will fix it for you all, but it seemed like it was a common thing for everyone to have Origin running and logged in when encountering this issue.
I'd like to know if someone could just install the origin application and not open it but run the game from Steam and see what happens.
