Stuck in Top-Down view!

I just loaded up my game to continue a build, and when I try to toggle out of top-down mode it barely shifts the camera angle at all. I am on a laptop, so I don't have a mouse to scroll on but I have tried the touchpad, adjusting the camera angles manually on the screen, and using the "t" hotkey. Has anyone else run into this stuff? I saw a post from 2015 on this, but the only thing I couldn't try from that solution was the mouse. Thanks in advance!

  • Hi @Bones3159 - Is it possible one of your keys is stuck? Sometimes a sticky ctrl or alt key can make things act wonky. Try turning off the laptop and then pressing up and down on the keys a few times to see if anything pops back up into position.

Another thought would be to try switching to the Sims 3 camera view to try from there. If you can un-stick the top down view, then you could switch back. Or vice-versa if you're using that view already. Same thing with edge scrolling - in the settings menu under the game options tab, try turning edge scrolling off or on, clicking the other options there off and on. If none of these work, maybe you can borrow a mouse from someone?

I hope one of these options helps. Let us know how it goes. Happy Simming!
