The Sims 4 CAS UI disappeared

When I open CAS, all I see is: SCREENSHOT
I can't even turn off the game (only with Task Manager). I don't own any CC or mod. Restarting game, Origin or starting new save doesn't help. I used Fraps for taking the screenshot btw.
Only restarting whole PC helps.

  • @Adiik Moved to general board for now. Sounds like a tech issue.

Can you try if renaming your used folder helps.

I had the same problem 😞

I fixed it by removing my cas mods like colours for the background

I'm glad you fixed it but this post is from 2014 when CAS/ UI mods weren't common. Besides the user said they weren't using mods.

    :D

  • Having the same problem, both with and without mods.  I removed and re-installed Origin, no help either.  Pulled my entire "Mods" folder in addition to deselecting use "script mods" in setup.  It disappears when I travel and when I exit build mode.  Also when I exit from the household menu, and from CAS.  Could this be a console cheat script issue (cas.fulleditmode, etc.)?

    Hi @casey4

have you tried to rename your user folder as well as repairing the game through Origin ?

I did try repairing through Origin to no avail.  I've not tried renaming the user folder... as it's never changed since day one I didn't see the correlation or need, but I'll try that anyway if the issue persists.  I just copied over all the game and document folders to my NAS and am in process of a complete re-download.  To those who might read this post, I've been building high end computers for over 20 years now and am very good with hardware and related issues...but this is software, and I ain't, so don't get get embarrassed to ask questions!  Do your homework, but then get help if that doesn't work!!! :-)  I use games for testing and benchmarking before I sell systems, so game related issues are far more than just a lack of enjoyment for me  And thanks for responding Crin.
