The Sims 4 minimizes before starting
Just bought the Sims 4 but can't play it as it minimizes every time i click the icon. It seems to try and load then my desktop appears with it still in the taskbar. Help!

Try starting the game in windowed mode: http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/02/start-game-in-windowed-mode/
If that works, set the game to the same resolution your screen has and then try full screen mode again.
