The Sims 4 Won't Start at All

I've installed the game with no trouble, but when I go to launch it, the screen goes totally black for about a minute, and then turns white with an error message that just says The Sims 4 has stopped working. No error code, no nothing. I've checked a few websites, and my computer meets the minimum specs, and I'd love to enabled Laptop mode, but I can't get to the main menu, so I can't change the settings. Any ideas on what is going on?

    I actually started the game up at 11 PM on last night when it launched and I had no problems what so ever.  I didn't actually get into the game but was working on my characters and downloading houses and families from the little library thing.  I fell asleep and when I woke up it said not connected would you like to connect.  I clicked connect and nothing so I had  do a end process tree to shut it down.  I restarted my computer and has been trying to get back in the game every since.  It startes to load but then it stops.. i even waited an hour to see if it will start back up but it just stays frozen on the diamond when I look at the task manager it says not responding.  i've ran as admin, ran a repair on orgin and it still is not wowrking.  What's the deal.  it was loading fine last night.  Why can it not load now/?
