The sims download in origin

Hey ! I just got a Windows 10 laptop from Walmart & I bought the sims game but whenever I try to download it , it says “ insufficient drive space available. Either free of 8.85 GB of space or select a different location” but this is a brand new laptop & I’ve tried to free up space & change the location but I doesn’t work & the different locations doesn’t work either . PLEASE PLEASE HELP ! I’ve been trying for weeks ! & I really want to play my new game ! please get back to me asap , I’d really really appreciate it , thank you so much !

    How many drives does your computer have? Try downloading it to a different drive? Alternatively you can use an external hard drive but it would need to be plugged in when you play.

    @Coley666thank you so much for replying , I really appreciate it ! so what you’re saying is that I should get a external hard drive ? If I do , do I connect it to my computer & will it guide me through what I need to do ? (Ps I don’t think I’ve had any drives on here , never have connected anything to my computer but my charger )
