@JewelJonah EA support says a lot of problems are known EA issues. It doesn't necessarily mean that's true.
Did you try playing in a new admin Windows account with your antivirus disabled? If not, please try it now. If you've created a new account and tried to play while your antivirus was still enabled, delete that account and make another new one: it's important to make sure the new account is unaffected.
If that doesn't help, try playing in a clean boot, still in the new account and with the antivirus disabled.

The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run. Disable the rest as described. When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down anything that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be active. If you accidentally kill the wrong process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.
