There is pink/blue/white lines in my sims 4 game.

Hi guys! 

I just purchesed the sims 4 game today - being pretty confident my laptop fit all the specs. I went ahead and installed it on to my laptop with no problems but when I went into the game a lot of the buttons were covered in lines. It made it extreamly hard to make out the words and such.

My laptop is windows 7 and I've updated the graphics card driver along with trying putting the game into laptop mode (which was very hard since I couldn't see the buttons) but no luck.

If someone could help me out it would mean a lot as I've just went out and spent a lot of money on a game that isn't really working as it should

    Have you found out how to fix the problem yet?

    I am having the same problem and it  seems there are many who are..

    I'm still trying to figure out how to fix..

    There is two reasons for this

    1. Your graphics drivers need an update
    2. Your card/chip is too weak 

    Post your info so someone can tell you which

    Your graphics drivers are from 2010. 

    Did you go to the Intel site directly ?

    I'm having the same issue...

    would've been nice for EA to have the foresight that their sims fans did not run out and purchase a brand new computer for their game. minimizing the graphics levels, if that is the issue here, to work on computers running say windows xp (sp3), as you have specified would work, would've been appreciated by many. At this point I find it hard to believe most people using an older computer - even a few years old - will be able to run this game properly.

    I've gone to the intel site directly, even though the update driver button in my device menu stated I have the most current driver, which is from 2010. So when I went to the intel site I ended up having to install java (I removed it ages ago.....now I have to do it all over again) in order to run their utility. when it had finished the results showed I indeed have the most current driver. so I guess we are all stuck with these annoying lines unless ea decides to write a patch to allow us to "dummy up" the graphics settings.....or if we pony up the dough and buy a new computer....

    Minimum requirements state that you need 128 MB of dedicted memory which both posted DxDiags do not fulfill,

    Even newer computers still come with those and they are simply not made for gaming.

    Really don't know if there are any generic drivers you could use, sorry.
