Hi I've been having this problem too! Had it on the create a sim demo months ago but thought it was just a glitch that would be fixed in the real game but apparently not! Just installed the game today and the lines won't go away - I've checked all the minimum requirements and I think I meet them all. This is my dxdiag if you could check and tell me what my problem is?
Thank you!
Your graphics chip doesn't have enough dedicated memory and your drivers are from 2010.
Maybe you'll find newer ones at the Intel Download Center: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

I already updated my driver to the most recent one intel could give me and have no idea how to fix any of these problems, please could you give me some recommendations so I can actually play my game?

Since your computer doesn't fulfill the minimum requirements (graphics chips need at least 128 MB of dedicated memory), there's probably not much you can do with this computer. Did you also try to search for generic graphics drivers ? I'm a bit unsure where you would need to look. I'll see if someone else can help you with that.
Do you have your graphics settings all the way to low ?

I really can't afford to get a pc or laptop that will meet the requirements though I just spent all of my money on the sims 4 base game I need to fix it on my laptop? I did just about manage to find the laptop mode toggle in the game behind all the lines and managed to change that but it made no difference. I have no idea what my graphics settings are or how to change them or what generic graphics drivers are so probably not. I'm really not a techy person so you might have to explain everything to me in really basic terms.
