Time standstill

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.61.15.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? all of the expansions all game packs except strangerville and vampires tiny living, Moschino, kitchen stuff and patio stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? ive noticed it when at my retail business
What happens when the bug occurs? the sims will go to do an action and the time will freeze but the sims are still moving but not completing the action, rain still falling you can still queue actions etc
What do you expect to see? TIme will freeze but if you pause it and play it again it will skip back a few seconds and then will freeze on that time again, you cant do anything ive tried to switch to another player but then it doesn't load the next screen. been doing it for a few days now.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Hi, 

I have been playing with my retail business for a while but now theres an odd glitch which I have only seen on this lot but not sure about the other lots because been spending a lot of time here. 

I will queue an action as normal the sim will go to do it but then will stand still can still see that they haven't glitched or crashed but the time has stopped moving, if I pause it and then play it again no action occurs it just ticks back to the same time it stopped at and carry on.

    @jamie_lee_stock There's several interaction that can cause this kind of lock-up.

    You can usually solve it by pressing ESC and closing the menu again. Sometimes you also have to find the culprit that's causing the lockup and reset that.

    Known causes
    - Conversation lockups where Sims try to talk to each other but lock each other out instead
    - A teen/kid doing homework somewhere.
    - Potentially still an issue but could be fixed: Serenading

    If you can narrow it down, could you let me know what caused it in your case ? The umbrella theory by @CGrant56 is also interesting although I've never seen that reported before myself

    hi yes! I just forgot to get back and report. It still did it on the retail lot and not seen this on any other lot, however i think it was triggered by an umbrella i tried resetting all sims on the lot and paused it both ways and it didn't work i tried switching control to another sim which took ages to trigger and didn't actually load onto the other sim so i had to force close my game ☹️ l sold my retail lot in case it was just this lot?

    No it didnt but actually it hasn't rained since so i wonder what it causing the glitch but will keep an eye on it as the season changes back to spring
