Transferring items between household inventories?

Is there anyway to transfer items from household inventories? My sim had three roommates a while back. Two of them got married, had kids, and the other had a kid as well. When they moved out, my sim was left with their children's birth certificates! This sounds dorky, but I really want to give them back ☹️ I'm a sentimental simmer, and my own sim is going to have a baby with his girlfriend soon, and I don't want to mix the birth certificates up.
