Tray Files Crashing Game (New Laptop)

I just got a new laptop and i need some help transferring my game to it.

I've already transferred my save files and they're working perfectly but once i copy and pasted my tray files to my laptop and started up the game, it would crash the entire laptop once i clicked into a household to play.

It's specifically the tray files that's causing the crash and i'm not sure what to do, any help would be appreciated!!

  • @lala1land  Try one set of Tray files at a time.  Move the existing Tray folder out of the Sims 4 folder to wherever you want, e.g. the desktop.  Launch the game to create a new Tray folder and make sure it's still working.  Sort the old Tray folder by modified date and grab one set of files that have exactly the same time stamp—this corresponds to one in-game Library item.  Test only that; if the files aren't working, remove them and test another set.

If no Tray files are working, try transferring the entire Tray folder from your old computer again.  Except this time, zip the Tray folder first: right-click and select Send to > Compressed (zip) file.  Move it to the new computer, and right-click and Extract.
