ts4 wont work with mods Unable to start: de4ee14f-29f00e76-00000000-00000000

So my problem is I've had The Sims 4 since December 2016 until now on my previous computer and mods work on that computer just fine. But I recently got a new computer and installed it on it but mods won't work on it keeps saying The Sims 4 is unable to start then it tells me I need to try repairing or uninstalling and then it says numbers like de4ee14f-29f00e76:00000000:00000000 but when I remove mods it works just fine. I'm starting to lose hope and  I've tried moving the mods folder to the desktop, moving The Sims 4 folder to the desktop too, running it as administrator, troubleshooting, doing the 50/50 method, uninstalling, repairing, using the same mods on the other computer and it works fine on the other computer, making it go back to the factory reset, and using brand new updated cc but still nothing!! It's been like this for a month and a couple of weeks now (since that is when I got this computer) so if some can please that would be greatly appreciated if you can because the game is ok without cc but cc is whats makes the experience 1000 times better.

  • I forgot to tell you I fixed it an hour ago. I had fixed it when I went onto my computer and logged into the first account on the computer that used to be my moms scince she was the owner of the computer until she gave it to meand mine was just a secondary account and it did not have all the rights, loaded up the sims 4 put mods in and it worked!!☺ THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP IT WAS VERY USEFUL AND I AM SO GREAYFUL THAT YOU PUT TIME INTO THIS. HAVE A GREAT DAY BYEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!😂

    Hi @ParisSimsxX

Seems this can also be caused by a corrupted resource.cfg

When you moved over your mods, did you also move over the resource.cfg ?

Could you try JUST moving over the mods and leave the newly generated resource.cfg

  • I am confused, what do you mean by that? Also I installed the sims 4 on my other computer and put mods in and it works fine on that one but my computer is the newer version of that one so I dont know whats going on.

You said you replaced the resource.cfg with your old one (well that's what I asked when you said yes)

So basically, keep the newly generated resource.cfg and do not move/copy over the old one.

Then put in any mod and see if it works
