Unable to launch Sims 4 after the latest update
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
I want to talk about something you don't mention above: A major problem with the newest update
How accessible is the current experience? It's useless to me
Summarize what in the product is difficult to use. Something to do with the latest update that makes it so macs can't run the game, I can't run it either but my computer (Windows 10 PC with a 64bit OS) is fully compatible yet it tells me I need the legacy version of the game.
How is this making it more difficult? I can't launch the game.
How can we reproduce this experience? Fix your update so I can play my game again.
After the latest update, I tried to launch the game and it gave me an error telling me I needed to download the legacy version of the game, after looking into this more I learned what the legacy version was and what specs you needed to use the normal game still, I checked my specs and my computer is fully compatible with the full version yet I can't run it. I've talked to tech support twice and both times they said it was a known issue and that it should be fixed soon, it's now been about 3-4 days since the last time I checked. I've tried repairing and checking for updates daily.
@indigoalex21 I've moved your post to the Sims 4 PC tech section.
Even though your system is 64-bit, if you've been playing TS4 in 32-bit, you'd be prompted to download the Legacy Edition. To check what version you're running, go to your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, select Game Properties and then Advanced Launch Options; the version should be listed in the dropdown menu. Be sure to select 64-bit if it's not already showing. If you don't see the option, right-click on the Sims 4 icon and select Repair, then look again.
