Unable to put item on lot from build mode

Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.72.28.1230
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? City Living, Get Together, Island Living, Seasons, Parenthood, Tiny Living, Laundry Day.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Going into Build Mode.
What happens when the bug occurs? When clicking an object, almost any, I cannot place them into the world/lot e.g a bed, table or lamp. A pre-existing item, already on the lot, I can move it. I can't even duplicate an item from an item on the lot ☹️ I can't select specific counter edges (will attach an image)
What do you expect to see? Items being able to be put onto the lot.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The patch was the bunk bed update (23/03/2021). I updated the game and they were there but I couldn't place them on my lot. I realised that I couldn't do that for any item.

Most of my mods were furniture and in CAS.
