Unable to start because game data is missing

Hi, I am trying to play Sims 4. I only have the base game installed right now but do have some expansion packs.  I keep getting this error [de4ee14f:29f00e76:00000000:4b0d852b] I have uninstalled ...

@puzzlezaddict Hi, thanks for responding.

When I tried to move the file onto my desktop, I get an error saying Error 0x8997916A: the cloud file provider is not responding.

I did close Origin to see if it would fix that but it did not.

I am using Windows Defender Antivirus.

I have attached the DxDiag to this post.

@smooshnoosh  It sounds like OneDrive might be the issue here: the error you got means it's having trouble syncing, which could also mean Sims 4 isn't able to write to a synced folder like the user folder in Documents.  Anyway, try pausing OneDrive's syncing:

Once you do that, it's a good idea to disable its syncing of Documents entirely, since that's likely what caused the problem in the first place.

    @puzzlezaddict Oh my gosh, it worked!! Thank you so much!

    Is there a way to just remove OneDrive entirely? I don't really want to be pausing it every 24 hours!

      Be sure to grab any files you might want from OneDrive first: for example, it might hold Sims 4 content or other important documents.  When you unlink or stop syncing, and maybe also when you uninstall OneDrive, sometimes your files will end up only in OneDrive and not on your hard drive.  You could drop the files you want to keep into any folder that isn't currently being synced (e.g. Downloads) before uninstalling OneDrive, then restore them afterwards.
