Upgraded from laptop to PC, Saves/Mods Won't Transfer
Hello,
I recently got a pc for Christmas to replace my laptop for gaming, but I'm having issues with things for the sims transferring over. I followed the instructions in this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPK8iSLTeoo&t=619s . I understand that the process might be different because the video showcases origin and I use the EA app, but the instructions worked for transferring my data from another game (Lost in Random). Essentially, Sims 4 isn't loading my saves, mods, etc. I've tried the video method twice and individually transferring it over, file by file. To mention, the pathways for each device is different. On my laptop, I had a documents folder, on the pc, the Sims is located under program files even though they both operate on Windows 11. I'm getting exhausted from having to wait for the game to download along with my DLC with each attempt, I'd like to be able to play. Any help will be appreciated, if you need more information, let me know!
Thanks & please help!
@VenusViper22 The location of the user data—saves mods, etc.—is the same on all computers: Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. The folder in Program Files holds just that, the game's program files, not the user data.
If you're not finding the Sims 4 user folder, here's how to locate the file path the game is reading:

Also, it's unnecessary to uninstall and reinstall Sims 4. You do need to start the game once for the user folder to be created though.
