Where's My House?
Okay, dumb question number two. After fiddling around with a sim I created for a while, next time I entered the game I chose to play an existing household. I picked a group of three people, and whe...
There was, but the guy's picture was greyed out, and clicking on it did nothing.
Going back to the game later, I tried to find this household and couldn't. Thinking back, I'm pretty sure what happened was that the game let me start playing them without moving them into a house first, so when he went "home" he ended up in some kind of limbo, or something. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't let you do that.

Yeah, sounds like a problem (unless he's at work). Did you check on that ?
He didn't have a job. I'm thinking it was just glitched. I've played a couple of other households successfully over the last couple of days, one Sim I created from scratch, and another I picked and definitely moved into a house before anything else, and no problems. I think I'm going to write off that vanishing-guy thing as a fluke, and be extra careful when I start playing new Sims.
Thanks for trying, though. 🙂

Can you move the Sim to a different house and then back ? That worked in another case that was similar to yours.
You know what, I finally got fed up with the whole thing, this yes but a lot of other little things too, including the $80 I paid for what's actually a very small game, with a lot of the new-cool-wow! stuff being refinements of parts of the game I didn't enjoy before anyway, so I uninstalled it and shipped it back to Amazon. Just the fact that there's no manual, at all, not even a freaking PDF on one of the disks -- which would've saved me a lot of this headache plus more I never posted about here -- is IMO unconscionable. Maybe in a few years, when the price has come down to something reasonable and there are some add-ons, I'll try it again. For now, though, I'm back to playing Sims 3 and having a great time with it, after a hiatus of a few years.
Thanks for trying to help, though -- I do appreciate it.
