@mittens02132 The first one should run Sims 4 much better than the second. In addition to its 8 GB memory, it also has a significantly stronger processor with a faster integrated graphics chip. It's definitely a better choice if you can fit it in your budget.
If you'd like to see other options, I can take a look; just let me know how much you want to spend. But you're probably not going to find anything better for the same price as the first, at least not new. Those kinds of laptops start around £450 these days, or a bit less if you find a good sale.
@puzzlezaddictThere is another laptop. It is yet another Acer however it's slightly different.

Would this still run all packs, custom content and mods as well as the base game smoothly?
Thanks!

@mittens02132 That one isn't as good as the first one you found: while it does have 8 GB memory, its processor and integrated graphics chip are significantly weaker than the ones in either of the other models.
If you're looking for other options, I found a few that might interest you. In order of price:

These all have the same processor and graphics chip, and 8 GB RAM, so performance in Sims 4 should be pretty much the same in all of them. The main difference is that a couple of them have a larger 512 GB hard drive, whereas the rest only have 256 GB. (These are all solid state drives, so everything from Windows to your everyday apps will run faster than on a mechanical drive.) While 256 GB is more than enough for Sims 4, your user data, and as many small apps like browsers you'd want to install, if you think you might need more, it would be better to spend a little extra to get 512 GB.

@puzzlezaddict Thank you for these suggestions. With the last one you chose, are you able to add more storage to it, as i would really like to have more than 256gGB.

@mittens02132 Are you asking about the Acer A314 from Currys? I'm having trouble finding good documentation on it, but I believe that it does not have a free slot or drive bay for a second hard drive. So you'd need to replace the installed drive entirely, which would mean reinstalling Windows and all the other software the laptop needs to run. If you want more internal storage, it would be better to get a different laptop.
