White Screen of Death on World Selection

This is so depressing ☹️ I have removed all mods from my sims 4 folder, I have deleted my localthumbnail.cache and all other files in cache, cachestr, and onlinethumbnailcache. Yet, on a brand new save game this still happens to me. This white screen of death happened when I tried to load Henford-on-Bagley, I haven't even gotten to all the other worlds to see how they'll perform. Please help!

  • @JellyBabiex  Please repeat the test in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see whether you get the same white screen.

Please test several of the worlds you have installed, and if you get different results, test all of them and list the ones that are currently affected.  Quit to desktop and reload after checking each world.  I realize this could be a bit time-consuming, but you don't have to put any effort into the sims you make for these tests.

@JellyBabiex  If you want to go back to playing with mods and/or custom content, test them first.  Keep in mind that the most recent major patch (not the two emergency patches) broke a large number of mods, so you may be better off downloading fresh copies confirmed compatible with patch 1.105.  You can also check out this list of broken/cleared/updated mods:

Once you've sorted through your mods and cc, you can move the contents of the saves and Tray folders from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one, and pick up where you left off.

No, this is not the solution. My save still doesn't work with 0 mods. A new empty savegame I made works - but not the saves I've poured hours into
