Why can't I dig

It seems after the newest update none of my sims can dig/collect crystals or collectables which pretty much ruins my collector goal.

I click on a stone and select the dig function but as soon as I hit play it vanishes from the taskbar. And if it's queued up with other actions on top of it as soon as it reaches dig it deletes the rest of my queue.
