Why is my Sims 4 game downloading so slowly?

I've gotten Sims 4. I've been downloading for about an hour now, and it's still at 3%. I am very confused as to why this is happening. We tried to install it from the disc, it wasn't working, seriously. We got to the first window and pressed continue, then nothing popped up. I'm now trying Origin, and it's so slow! It also says 'Downloading' instead of 'Copying.' Can someone tell me how to resolve these issues?
