Why is my Sims 4 so laggy?

Let me start with I have never had a problem with the sims lagging on this laptop until recently. I opened my game and it ran just fine until I went into a save file. When the game loaded I could barely move the camera because it was lagging so much and even when I clicked on things it took at least 3 seconds to respond. I put the settings on low graphics quality and laptop mode, restarted the game, and it still didn't help. I did the same thing without it being on laptop mode and it didn't help. I deleted all my mods and save files, still to no avail. I even deleted and reinstalled the entire game but it still won't work. I looked up things that I could do. I turned off the WiFi things in the settings. I went to see if my drivers were updated. I made sure the game was updated. I cleaned out my laptop. I even installed the 32 bit version of the game and opened it like that, still didn't help. And of course I continued to try everything with the graphics being low and on or off laptop mode. I even tried to see if it would work with the higher graphics settings. I have no idea what is wrong but this is the last thing I could think of to do. I have a Dell Latitude E5440. It has 450 GB in storage and 8 GB of RAM. The only things I have on this laptop are 3 other games, steam, origin, chrome, and my drawing software. PLEASE help me with this!!! I've been dying to play with all my expansion packs again, but I've had to deal with base game on my PS4😢
