why is Sims 4 requiring Origin to be running
I did the pre-load of Sims 4. When i click on the sims 4 icon, it is requireing me to have origin running to play. Why is this and how can i turn that off.

Per the the FAQ an internet connection is not required to run the game. Just for install and registration. So i ask again, why does Sims 4 require origin to be running to play the game?
Because that is how newer EA games work on PC. It just is.
Same way Steam games require steam even if it's played in Offline Mode.
Origin is the launcher.
