Will I lose my saves from Sims4 if I move on EA app?

Hi, so recently I've been thinking it is finally time to move on EA app on my PC, but I am too scared to lose my saves. I've been using Origin and playing sims for so long and I know you can't use sims4 without Origin app on your PC. If I download an EA app without deleting Origin and then I just log in on EA and delete Origin will my sims game stay the same with all the saved games and things in the gallery? Or will it collide?

  • @archie89x  The EA App will remove Origin as it installs itself.  If you want to get Origin back, you can download it from the link in this thread:

This should not affect your saves or other user content at all.  All of this content is stored in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, and this folder should remain untouched when you uninstall a game launcher or even Sims 4 itself.

However, it's a good idea to frequently back up this folder, or at least the saves folder inside.  You never know when you'll run into computer trouble, and having a recent backup means you'll never lose much.  Ideally, you'd either store the folder on an external drive or USB stick or upload it to a free filehosting service (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).  In either case, you can zip the folder to save space: right-click it and select Send to > Compressed (.zip) file.  Then if and when you need to use it, right-click and select Extract.

I keep several backups and get rid of the oldest ones when I don't need them anymore.  It's just a matter of getting into the habit.

The content you've downloaded from the Gallery is stored in ...The Sims 4\Tray, which also holds any households or builds of your own creation you've saved.  You can preserve this folder in the same way.  Anything uploaded to the Gallery will stay there unless its creator explicitly takes it down.
