Will my laptop run the Sims 4 ?

I bought a laptop for school and I only really use it for typing papers. I want to download the Sims 4 but in the past it’s destroyed my laptops. Those ones were only $100-200 though, mine now cost me $850 and I really can’t afford to ruin this one. Will it be able to handle the Sims 4?

It’s a Dell Inspiron 14 7000 2-in-1 Touch Screen Laptop with AMD Ryzen 7- 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. I bought it at Best Buy.

This is a link to the laptop I have:https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-inspiron-14-7000-2-in-1-14-touch-screen-laptop-amd-ryzen-7-16gb-memory-512gb-ssd-sandstorm/6409066.p?skuId=6409066

  • @LILLIBU2  Yes, you can easily play Sims 4 on this laptop.  It should be able to run the game on medium-high or high graphics settings even if you install every pack.

I'm not sure how the game would have ruined your previous laptops, but a $200 computer isn't really equipped to be running Sims 4 in the first place.  In general, the only reasons why an otherwise capable laptop would be damaged by running Sims 4 are if it's allowed to overheat or if it has a hardware defect.  For the first, make sure it can cool itself properly: play on a hard flat surface, or use a laptop tray or similar to elevate it so air can flow underneath.  For the second, that's why laptops come with a warranty.

  • @LILLIBU2Hey, I think I had that same exact laptop before i got a new one.

I also believe the Sims 4 ruined that laptop bc i had a ton a EPs, packs and Mods. I think it was too much for my laptop to run.

I suggest you get a hardrive to hold your game and packs on, while you laptop just collects your saves and mods. AND to get a laptop fan. It helped me alot with my new laptop (ASUS 14 Vivobook)

Its really easy to do, I just looked it up.
