In computers anything is possible. Will the game harm your computer? In general no. If your computer is properly cooled there should be no reason to worry. If the cooling vents are blocked then it is possible any program could harm the computer by overheating. Will the game slow the computer down? Again in general no. If the hardware meets or exceeds the minimum requires the game should run properly. Today's games tend to be large and consume a lot of disc space. Your computer requires free space for system use (temp files, etc) and when free space gets tight applications tend to reserve blocks of memory for themselves (shame on them). Insufficient free space will slow the computer down to a point it may crash.
