Windows 10 task bar won't go away in Sims 4

Did you check in your game options if it's set to fullscreen mode ?

I just purchased the game. Had a save game from the trial and have been playing it for about an hour. Suddenly my taskbar is staying on the screen. Fullscreen is still checked. My SIM got in the shower and hours have gone by and her hygiene isn't going up but her hunger is going down. Because I put my taskbar on the left, I can't cancel actions because it's covering it. I ended up quitting the game without saving.

I then went back in the game, selected the saved game, and it crashed. Now I can't get in because it's greyed out in Origin. Seems like Origin is nothing but trouble these days. Nothing works. Not happy at all.

Update. Game no longer works. I tried Repair and no. I did a restore save back to October and the trial. That didn't work. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and that doesn't work. I then deleted the saves, started a new game, and the &%$# task bar is there again. Hours wasted.
