On a new save too ?
Could you try if it works if you don't directly click on the Sim but a bit off to it ?

Yes on new saves to. It’s like I have no control over the game. I’ve never had an issue like this before this didn’t start until after I updated my game and purchased the SpongeBob bundle. I can click on a sim that I want to control but I can’t physically make the sims do anything like for instance if I click on the tv nothing comes up it is like that for everything in my game even new households.

If it works in that mode, then it's a background program interfering and you will need to find out which one.

It did start working again and I was able to play it for a little but it’s actually doing it again now. And I’ve done everything that you have listed. I’m really just unsure as to what is happening to my game
It is also glitching out doing this as well
