@leasse Could you test if you have the same issue on a fresh save to see if it's save game related ?

Also try repairing your game through Origin.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I actually went as far as uninstalling and reinstalling both origin and all of the sims content and the issue persists. 

    how does one go about repairing the game through origin?

      @leasse Right-click on the game in Origin and hit repair game.

      Does it also happen in a fresh save ?
