Sims 3 Game STUCK every few seconds, breaks after some minutes 64 BIT

I just installed the Sims 3 on Origin. I Was so excited and immediately bought 10 expansion packs (only downloaded three of them) because of the big sale. It's my first time playing the sims 3 on my own Account/Device.

Loading the Game works, the world opens, I can create sims with no problems at all but as soon as I start playing with my sims, the game just gets stuck every few seconds. I can use my computer mouse but the screen is completely frozen. I feel like the game is still kind of working because I can hear the reactions of the game to the mouse clicking on stuff (for example when I click on play, I can hear my sims talking but I can also click on pause and they stop). I think it's really just the in game screen that's stuck.

Second problem: Similar to the first Problem, my game gets stuck after a maximum of 10 minutes playing with my sims in life mode and there is no reaction at all. The cursor turns into the rainbow circle (typical for MacBooks) which I guess means the Mac has big trouble reconnecting. Nothing happens and I am forced to force-close the sims without saving...

Please help :/ Should I return the sims 3? it was my dream to be able to play it on my own device and have many expansion packs, as a student I was really happy to finally be able to buy it. really disappointed.
