- AnonymousThe mixed-use buildings in the prototype are INCREDIBLE.
- Omri147New SpectatorI know it's still super early for this project but I reaaaally hope Sims won't stay in this art style. It still feels very cartoony and the hair looks like Sims 4 base game hair so I hope it's all a prototype that isn't going to stay when the game comes out.
- Wow the lighting looks nice and I like that they are doing different animations for each emotions. I hope they do different animations based on relationships too. Also looks like we are getting multi purpose lots which I'm excited about and possibly open neighbourhood?
- AnonymousI really liked their exploration with modern lighting systems. It really makes a difference!
Open neighborhoods with mixed-use buildings and apartments are great. Love the high-density look, a departure from the detached single-family suburbia that is typical of the franchise.
Weakest part of the presentation was the look of the prototype Sims. They have an Unreal Engine out-of-the-box look. I imagine they are more or less placeholders at this stage. - AnonymousOne thing about the very expressive animations - it's SHOWING not TELLING. This is a good thing. It's better to see the emotion than to read a color-coded emotion state next to your sim's portrait

The focus on animation, It looks like moods can maybe affect interactions with sims even more now, I think moods affecting how sims talk and animate works pretty well in the sims4 as long as they are not too over the top.
The living neighborhood with sims going to different places like "office", "apartment" and "tacos" so much yes, I often feel this is so lacking in the sims4 with just a few sims walking from point A to B, this could really make the world seem alive, and I hope we can visit these places without loading screens, it feels like they wouldn't put this much effort into this unless we could go and visit different lots, so I hope this will mean that we will get an "open world" or "open neighborhood".
The prototype scene with a sim going towards a sofa, feels pretty early in development but the UI seems very large? This will hopefully change.
Hair color customization: I had hoped for more detailed hair, but maybe we will see that as they will develop this feature along, but it's great that we can customize the hair color better now, it's much easier to make hair look more realistic if you can mix with colors.
The last prototype scene where it looks like the sim have different choices depending on what's happening is...interesting, and it's also interesting to see Jill talking about how they are experimenting with having the game show more clearly what the sims are doing and what is happening, if this means less notifications then I'm happy.
Overall it looks good, I do hope the game will not have too many over the top animations though but Jill seemed to mentioned that they want to go for more subtle things to tell the player what is happening.
It also looks like a lot of the original simgurus are working on Rene now, I recognized names like Azure and Jill at least.
Still not a dragon
idk at these stages I just don't see anything in particular
that couldn't just be sims 4 thing
so I'm meh about it- Anonymous

They need to be cautious about this. The core personality should influence behavior and animations. A big issue, illustrated in Asmara's viral Sims 4 video essay, is the fact that emotions and personality have essentially become one and the same. Super important that emotions don't overshadow personality. - BabykittyjadeRising ObserverI think everything looks great!! I can't wait to see the final results of the new lighting. Final results can look very different from a prototype but if the rooms look anything like the prototype photos that's so beautiful ??
I love that they are mapping out what sims are going to do throughout the day like schedules and stuff. Because I feel like that's something I never liked about ts4 townies they seem to wander aimlessly with no real life or direction.
We have not seen the sims yet and this prototype doesn't count. But I'm hoping they go with a HD version of ts4 sims. Even though I'm a 100%alpha girl I love ts4 sims because with cc you can get the perfect balance of not too alpha and not too cartoony, or even full alpha. So it's kind of the best of both. A more realistic style is hard to make look cartoony. Either way I'm not too concerned about the sims look like because I think they will make them look good.
If I had one critic of this it's that they seem to be sticking with the exaggerated cartoon expressions and movements. Infact this may be even MORE exaggerated which is something I don't quite like. I prefer more smooth realistic subtle movement and expression. Those early animations look VERY cartoony.
That's just my personal preference though. ?
Overall a lot of thought is going into this and this just might be the best sims game yet!
Ts4 being my favorite in the series so I imagine ts5 to be an advanced even better version of ts4 in look, features, and detailed animation. No other life sim will compare. - Those multipurpose lots would be so cool!
