This looks promising so far. Of course, a lot can change and we will have to find out more about the gameplay later, but multi-purpose lots, npc "routines" (if they are not very fixed short loops) and hair customization all sound like cool ideas, plus it looks like open neighborhoods which I really, really want.
I'm not judging esthetics too much yet because so much can change, but I'm actually happy with something more stylized, even if it's a little cartoonish, as it ages a lot better (and makes emotions/reactions more visible in the game). I'll admit the handshake animation variations are fun but also a little strange to me : hopefully "neutral" isn't so slouchy (did they mean low-energy or something?) and all animations don't end up quite as bouncy as these prototypes. I think the bounciness comes from the prototype animations starting from a neutral pose with no transition (and looping), but seeing them, I felt like all the sims were little springy toys XD
