Ultimately, my prediction is that there will be an overlap period of the Sims 4 and Rene as Rene continues to build. A lot of game studios support and/or release remasters of their old games (You can still get old Elder Scrolls games, there were just remasters of Resident Evil, WOW had the classic servers, etc) because they know people still play them. I would love to see EA do this (and not just that apparently awful 64 bit Mac version of Sims 3). However, it seems like EA wants to erase old versions of their games for...reasons? I don't play Sims 4, but it would be a shame to force people into the new game when they've been playing 4 so long.
