@chealsycat hey no worries ^^ we all started out at some point. I'll think about making a guide or maybe someone else can make it if there's the time ^^ But just real quick:
The pages on wordpress are not like pages of a book, they are not connected. You normally use pages for static stuff like a "Hello welcome" page or a table of contents. "Blog posts" contain your actual story. Some wordpress themes automatically link from one blog post to the next which connects them. But often you will have to connect them yourself by inserting a link to the next chapter in the blog post of the previous chapter (I hope that makes sense). You can see an example on my blog, I do that all the time
