@sims3top3 If you own The Sims 2 in EA App, then run a repair; it should restore all the original files. Disk files are not patched, so they might not be 100% compatible with Ultimate Collection.
Keep in mind that a game repair will undo any fixes you might have done in the game's installation folder, so you will need to restore them after the repair.
Thanks for the reply! I already repaired the game 3 times, but the hairs are still missing. It looks as if the game fully deleted these hairs, but sims who had the hairstyles still have them, so they have to be somewhere.

@sims3top3 , a Vanilla reset is where you move the Sims 2 file (found Documents > EA Games > The Sims 2) to your Desktop. You have to actually move the file, do not copy and paste it or create a shortcut. What this does is it resets the game files (where the saved games and CC/Mods are stored) so that it resets the game to a blank slate with no saves, edits or CC you may have previously installed.
Once you move the file, start up the game as normal. Your saved games will not show as they are now on your Desktop. Pick a neighborhood and play for about an hour or so to see if the game has totally reset and is running as it should with the hairs showing back up.
