Base Neighborhoods missing. Sims 2 Ultimate Collection.
I've seen this issue posted here before but my issue is different. I haven't owned the store version of Sims 2 in YEARS. I got the ultimate collection after showing the special features DVD to support. I've never had this issue before. I've tried fresh installs and nothing. Even removing the 4GB patch and the Graphics Rules maker changes and still nothing. Strangetown, Veronaville and Pleasantview are gone but Belldonna Cove, Desiderata Valley and Riverblossom Hills are still present. I have no way to get the store versions files that I know of and I don't know what to do so the forums are my last resort.
@Electro_Blazer82 , it's actually a very easy fix and has nothing to do with the "Store Version" verses the regular version.
First of all, move your Sims 2 folder (Found Documents > EA Games > Sims 2) to your Desktop. Do NOT copy and paste or create a shortcut, actually move the file to your Desktop. This folder contains your Saved games, CC and mods. They will be safe on your Desktop for the moment. Next, start up the game as normal to allow for a new Sims 2 folder to generate in its place. See if the Neighborhoods appear as normal at this time and start a new game remembering that none of your current saves, CC or mods will be present. Play for about an hour and then save and quit. My advice on saving games is to save your game prior to quitting and then simply quitting the game without saving. I always do this and it cuts down on game data becoming corrupted.
Let me know if this brings back your Neighborhoods like normal. It could be a Mod or CC that is causing them to disappear, but I want to test first to see if they come back. Please let me know what happens so I can see what needs to be done next.
