@Tremayne4260 Sorry for delay in responding, but as you are aware, the whole world at the moment is in somewhat of a crisis.

I found a solution that worked for me though.

Adding TSM.exe to Windows Defender Antivirus Exclusions,

In Origin right click on Sims Medieval game, select properties, advanced launch options, command line arguments, and adding -w and saving.

I want to thank you most sincerely for all your help trying to help me figure this out. I hope everyone are keeping safe and well during all this uncertainty going on at the moment.

  • @icftldu , have you updated anything recently? Have you tried anything like uninstalling and reinstalling the game? Just want to get an idea of what you have tried.

@Tremayne4260 Yes I updated Graphics today.

I have also uninstalled and reinstalled through Origin, cleaning registry with CCCleaner as well.Rebooting computer between uninstalls and re-installs.

Game used to work on this computer so I am stumped as to why the problem now.
  • @icftldu Not sure. I just installed it myself a few weeks ago. I've already completed platinum on all but 2 of the ambitions.

I didn't even have to configure the graphics, It just worked.
  • @icftldu , try this for me. Locate your Electronic Arts file (found Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims Medieval) and move that file to your Desktop. Do not copy and paste or create a shortcut, actually move the file. Don't worry about your saved games at this point. They will be safe on your Desktop in this folder. Next start up the game and see if everything appears as normal. If so, play for about an hour or so to make sure everything else is running fine. Something may have become corrupt in this file and moving the folder resets the game back to the basic game state.

@Tremayne4260 I moved the file as you suggested and it regenerated a new one. Unfortunately though it did not fix the black screen issue. Problem still remains.
  • @icftldu , are you starting the game in full screen mode or in windowed mode? If you are starting in windowed mode, try starting the game in full screen mode and switch to windowed mode when the game has fully started and you can see everything. If you are starting the other way, do the opposite and try it.

  • @icftldu , thank you for telling me. I can now add this to my solution list if someone else has this problem. 🙂
