Changing game resolution in The Sims Complete Collection on MacOS

Hi guys,

I recently installed The Sims Complete Collection on my parents' old iMac G5.

I used to play this game on Windows so am used to seeing the game launcher and being able to choose the resolution from there, before starting. On this machine however, I only have one icon for starting it and it launches directly into the game itself - no resolution option anywhere.

I've been searching around and have seen plenty of suggestions or mods for enabling HD or widescreen support for Windows but nothing for MacOS. Does anyone know how to go about doing this?

Bear in mind that the machine that I'm running this on is a PowerPC Mac so it's a machine which the software was intended for being ran on - it's not being ran virtually on a newer Intel-based Mac.

In other words, this is not a problem of the machine being too new for the game.

Thanks guys,

Lewis

  • @ldthomson , the resolution is changed under game options. So, start up your game as normal. Next once in a neighborhood or game, look for the three dots (they look like this ... ) and click on that. That will bring up the options. Next you should see an icon that looks like a computer monitor, the resolutions options are found there. And then you can change the resolutions to whichever one you fancy.

@EpicSalads , while there are parts of the game that are very similar, this solutions is really only for the Windows version of the game. The Mac version should not have to have the GraphicsRule.sgr file manually edited. 🙂
