FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS JANUARY 19TH - A WEEK ON THE SIMS FORUMS
FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS, JANUARY 19TH - A WEEK ON THE SIMS FORUMS
Happy New Year Simmers!
I hope you had a great time during the holiday season and that you are looking forward to 2024. EA_Solaire asked you last week about your potential New Year's resolutions, and I was thinking if you had any related to The Sims games? I'm pushing myself to commit to one household for the time being instead of constantly switching, and to try out multiple careers instead of sticking with the same one! What about you?

That's a wrap folks! Have a wonderful weekend, enjoy the new kits if you are getting them, and stay warm 🧣☕

🗞️ What happened this week?
- We had a new update on Tuesday January 16th that fixed a couple of bugs. Make sure that your game is updated for an optimal experience!
- On January 18th, two new kits were released, Goth Galore 🖤 and Castle Estate 🏰 Remember, you voted for the themes of those kits and they are finally available for you to try out. Feel free to showcase your best goth outfits or your majestic castles on the threads prepared by EA_Cade

- New Year, New Me! @simgirl1010 is sharing the Sims Community's New Year Player Refresh article to give you tips and tricks so you can start out your simming year on the right foot 📝 It might be time for new gameplay challenges such as beginning a new story, creating a different type of build or finally trying out the 100 Babies Challenge (good luck 💀). It can also be as simple as expanding your collection to spark your creativity or even just picking what could be your next addition depending on what you already own. Finally, it never hurts to make sure you are not falling behind with your backup saves or screenshots. And if you are playing with mods, it's always good to check if they are all up to date. I suggest you to check out the full article as it will give you plenty of ideas and motivation! 💪
- Let's move on to this week's poll, which promises to be very interesting: @EnkiSchmidt wants to know if you take your horses to Geek Con 🤔🤔 Considering that the answer "Yes" has no votes so far we must assume that this is not usual behaviours among simmers... however 43% of you voted for "I didn't, but now I will" 👀 Alright people, you will have to show pictures if your horsies are tagging (or trotting) along with your sims to the convention! EnkiSchmidt's unicorn seemed to have had a blast over there by judging at the screenshots 🦄 I love the idea and will definitely try this out in a future game!
- This week, @fatness1974 has a beautiful build in stock for The Sims 3 players: make sure to check out the beautiful Edison Farm located in Cape Albacore 🏡 , a really pretty residential cottage-like home with its very own barn. It has a well maintained vegetable garden and surroundings, a nice porch to relax, a private study and it is fully furnished. It also comes with a trailer boat and a truck 👀 It sounds like the perfect place to enjoy a book in a cozy blanket or to go for a wander around the lake. It is also conveniently on the ice cream truck road 😋 Make sure that your sims do not pass on this amazing opportunity!
- Ahoy mateys, arrr you ready for the build of the week, the stunning Pirate Inn by @GlacierSnow? 🏴☠️ If you are bored of the regular appearance of your local bar, worry not! It is time for your sims and their crew to set sail on this beautiful location and enjoy a nice glass of rum, a game of cards and a trip to the past! There are many rooms available for your sims to relax and spend the night in this unusual setting. Make sure to bring your prettiest pirate attire to blend in 🦜 Note that this build is part of a Buleprint Builds challenge started by @Aljay and it's great to see how creative everyone can be with the same starting shell!
- To finish off this week's highlights, why not enjoy a nice fairytale by @JadeKadoa, who has decided to rewrite the famous Grimm stories from a modern perspective? I personally love the idea of revisiting classics and incorporating them into the universe of The Sims! The first chapter of GrimmTails - Generation 1 is already out for you to read, and I suggest you do so if you want to see a new take on The Little Mermaid, with Sulani being the perfect setting 🧜 In this story, you will meet Maya Grimm who suffered an incident as a teen in the waters of Sulani and who was rescued by a mysterious man. JadeKadoa sells it way better than I do: "In this modern-day retelling of "The Little Mermaid," the traditional roles are reversed. The narrative unfolds from the perspective of the "prince", as Maya navigates the complexities of her heart." The start is already very promising and I can't wait to see how the story unfolds compared to the original tale that we all know 🌊
That's a wrap folks! Have a wonderful weekend, enjoy the new kits if you are getting them, and stay warm 🧣☕
