FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS JULY 21ST - A WEEK ON THE SIMS FORUMS

Suly Suly y'all!

Happy Friday, and happy Horse Ranch launch week! Now that the wait is finally over, how have you been spending your time in Chestnut Ridge? Have you been working on building a scenic ranch, perfecting your Nectar recipe, or tending to your mini-sheep and mini-goats? I want to hear all about it!

Let's quickly recap our very exciting news from this week:

  • On Tuesday, a new patch was released that included a number of bug fixes as well as a few new base game features, including Free Camera in build mode, a new grill recipe, and paintable ceilings!! This is an exciting new update, so be sure you're all caught up on everything included by reading over the patch notes here.

  • And yesterday the newest expansion, Horse Ranch, finally launched! If you haven't joined in on our official screenshot thread here, make sure you jump in and show off those beautiful new horse friends, and all your adorable mini-goats and mini-sheep! πŸ΄πŸπŸ‘

Ready to ride off into this week's highlights?

  • For those of you still waiting to get your hands (hoofs?) on Horse Ranch with some burning questions about new gameplay or features, @EmmaVane has you covered in their Horse Ranch Q&A! Do you need some details on how horse breeding works? Or are you more curious about how to obtain a blue mini-sheep? And of course the question everyone's been dying to know... How do you get a unicorn?? πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„ So if you've got specific questions you're wondering about, or even if you're just looking to see some fun screenshots, be sure to check out this very informative Q&A!

  • And for those of you already playing Horse Ranch - @catloverplayer has started this illuminating Did You Know discussion for all the fun little surprises you find throughout the pack! Did you know that horses will dance to the radio? Or that horses, sheep and goats are all able to interact with your furry friends from Cottage Living? What other fun secrets have you already discovered about this pack? Tell us everything you know! 🐴🎡

  • Up next, I don't think any of us ever thought a thread about ceilings could be so exciting, yet here we are... with the fabulous new paintable ceilings feature included in this week's big update, @Simmingal wants to see everyone's beautiful newly painted ceilings! Point those cameras to the sky and show off all your gorgeous and freshly transformed rooms! Need a bit of help figuring out this new feature? No worries, we've got tips and tricks on making your ceilings as stunning as possible. Did you know you can also now paint your floors a lovely shade of 'ceiling white'? πŸŽ¨πŸ–ŒοΈ So let's see all those lovely updated ceilings, and be sure share any other helpful tips you've found!

  • The Sims 3 just recently turned 14 years old (!!!!) but I still remember it like it was only yesterday. With so many fun years of great memories, @"Princess of Da'varh" wants to know when did you first play The Sims 3? I very fondly remember getting my first copy in 2012 along with the Katy Perry Sweet Treats pack, which I was absolutely obsessed with - I would place those adorable cupcake chairs in every single inch of every house I built πŸ§πŸ’• So when did you start playing? Did you rush out and buy the game on launch day back in 2009? What was the first pack you played with, and which was your favorite? Bring on the nostalgia and take a walk down memory lane with us!

  • Let's end our week with one of the most difficult questions I've ever seen about The Sims that may be sending me into a bit of an existential crisis - @simgirl1010 wants to know what would you choose if you could only keep the base game, one expansion, one game pack, one stuff pack, and one kit? Realistically I'd never be able to pick, but if I absolutely had to, I think my choices would be Seasons, Parenthood, Paranormal, and Blooming Rooms because I'd need a solid mixture of my favorite gameplay and items for building. But what would your choices be? Would you pick your packs based on the best Build/Buy items, or would you make your selection depending on gameplay features? As tough as this question is, tell us what you'd pick!

That's all for this week! As always, have a wonderful and safe weekend, and have fun with all your new hoofed friends πŸ’š
Till next time!
