Friday Highlights June 23rd - A Week On The Sims Forums

FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS JUNE 23RD - A WEEK ON THE SIMS FORUMS

Howdy y'all!

It's finally Friday, which means it's time to mosey on up to the campfire for another edition of our highlights. Before we get started, in order to really set the mood here, go ahead and grab your 10-gallon hats, strap on your spurs, and be sure you have this tune playing in the background.

We had some mighty big updates this week:

  • On Tuesday, we received our most recent Sims Delivery Express, which includes the R&B radio station, new book color swatches, and a fun new scenario entitled Family Fortune!

  • Tuesday also brought us this season's roadmap, entitled Take the Reins, which will include a new expansion, two new kits, a Behind the Sims livestream event, and more! If you've got a hankerin' to read up on what this season is all about, be sure to check it out here.

Get ready to work hard - and play hard with Horse Ranch

Now let's giddy on up into the highlights!

  • Naturally we'll be kicking this week off with the Horse Ranch Official Countdown started by @catloverplayer - and we are only 28 days away! Customizable horses, nectar crafting, BBQ's, line-dancing, building my own dude ranch, and a picturesque new world, I can't decide what I'm most excited about! πŸ΄πŸπŸ‘ But what are y'all most eager for? Will you be spending your time breeding and raising your own foals, or would you rather train and compete for the rodeo? Are you team mini goat, or team mini sheep? Do you plan on exploring the scenic trails of Galloping Gulch? Tell us everything you're looking forward to!

  • Up next, we've got a question for my Simmers with a green thumb - @PenguinFoop is looking for some suggestions on how to best organize your garden. Their backyard has become a bit too crowded, and with no room on the lot for a greenhouse, they're in need of some other ideas on how to manage a plethora of plants. So, have you got any helpful tips or tricks you can provide, like splicing methods, seasonal plant rotations, or small garden blueprints? Be sure to share your ideas with us! 🌱🎍

  • When I think of the term 'beach house', this dreamy little Mermaid Manor built by @simskeleton is exactly what comes to mind. This elegant beach house includes 2 bedrooms with full attached bathrooms, an exquisite kitchen with a breakfast nook, and a large sitting room with a stunning fireplace. With all the pastel pinks and greens, and the enchanting dΓ©cor style, I was immediately reminded of my favorite furniture set in Animal Crossing - the Mermaid Series 🧜🐚 If you're in need of the perfect beach bungalow for your mermaid family, look no further!

  • While we can't stop ourselves from aging in real life, we certainly can in The Sims, and @MrPlumbob wants to know in this discussion how you all handle aging your Sims. Now when I create a family, I tend to get a little too attached and couldn't stand to see them die (unless of course by an unfortunate accident... πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯) so I play with all aging settings completely off for both active and unplayed households. It takes me quite a long time to decide a Sim is ready to age up, but when I finally decide, I prefer to age them up manually. But what's your preferred setting? Do you grant your Sims eternal life like me, or do you have them age naturally as your game progresses? For rotational players, do you prefer short, normal, or long lifespans? Share with us what your favorite aging method is!

  • Let's finish this week off with this arduous and original new gameplay challenge, The Apocalyptic Terrarium Challenge written by @"Lady Llewellyn". Your Sim is the last surviving Sim after a world-ending apocalypse, and you need to rebuild with only a select few workbenches to use, several seed packets to plant, and an evil wishing well that demands a weekly donation. Your end goal is repopulate the earth and survive only on items you can craft, and plants you can grow in your underground terrarium. This is definitely a hard-core survival/generational challenge and not for the faint of heart, but if you think you've got what it takes to thrive in the wasteland, be sure to check this out!

I reckon that'll wrap us up for another week - As always folks, I hope y'all have a rip-roarin' weekend! πŸ’š
Y'all come back now, y'all hear?
